Synthesis of LnCrO3 perovskites and their color properties

ABSTRACT The aim of this current study was to prepare LnCrO3 (Ln= La, Pr, Nd) in order investigate the influence lanthanides ions on structural and color properties chromites. powders were synthesized by microwave-assisted auto-combustion method using urea as a fuel. After calcination at 800 1000 °C, characterizations performed X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), UV–vis spectroscopy colorimetric analysis CIE-Lab system. All samples are considered single phase nanocrystalline. There not significant changes parameters doped with ions. chromites presented colors greenish gray tones which became darker calcined higher temperatures. No change pigment observed when incorporated into transparent glaze.
